Two Barns Coastal Design began in Carmel, Indiana (no coasts just design at that point) in 2013. A buddy of mine asked me to help him tear down his Uncles Barn. I had siding, rafters and even pig gates covered in decades worth of mud and the things pigs are supposedly "happy in." Eventually in my spare time away from the "cultivation" of my tiny cube farm in a very large office building, I would design art pieces or pieces of furniture for my house with this old barn. At this point it was a hobby that consumed me.
In 2014, my family and I relocated to Rowley,Massachusetts a small , sleepy New England town minutes from the coast. You can't help but smell the salt air while looking at the moon on any given evening. In this town we were lucky enough to find a place that had a small barn (After all I needed a place to store all of that barn wood so how about another barn....good catch this is where the the name of the business came from). So with all of this wood and a workshop I decided to make a go of it and here I am today.
Most of my designs use as many reclaimed materials as possible from the land and the designs are inspired by my love of the coast. Or as I like to say the turf and the surf....
This is how I started. Thanks for visiting my site.
